Kent Rock Meadows Llamas - Where PERUVIAN LLAMAS are raised in  the  farmland
of
Georgia  that  they  call  the  "Classic South"
 ............
Peruvian Commodore ( January 1,1990 - January 3, 2006 )

" I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. "
                                        Robert Frost

Sometimes we are afforded an opportunity in our lives
......... We were ........
AND we took a new path which changed our lives forever
We discovered Llamas

Our background

Dave - Originally from Watertown, New York, Dave spent four years in the US Air Force
then after returning to Watertown met Lillian a nursing student & they were married.

A few years later he decided to  attend Syracuse University, graduating  in Business/Marketing.  and later obtained a degree in
Project Management from George Washington University. Having worked for AT&T and Lucent Technologies for thirty eight years,
he is now retired from the business "grind", and has been busy day to day with pastures, fencing, shearing,
a brief 2 year stint as President of the Southern States Llama Association  and anything else that is Llamas.

Lillian An Atlanta native, who was born in Norway, has a three year Nursing degree from the House of the Good Samaritan
in Watertown, New York. She did her Pediatrics training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City,
and has an Associate Degree in Science from Excelsior College in New York.
After she & Dave were married she worked as an Operating Room Head Nurse at Syracuse Memorial Hospital
specializing in Orthopedics & Neuro Surgery. Her medical experience became invaluable in her career with llama ranching.
Whenever spare time permitted she wrote articles for the Southern States Llama Journal and the Llama Banner
and had her brief 2 year stint as Vice President of the Southern States Llama Association

Back in the early '90's.....
We wanted to enhance our day to day business lives with some new venture-
At first Dave started out developing a peach orchard of over 100 trees
and Lil's goal was to raise a good group of exotic fibered animals - most likely Cashmere Goats or Merino Sheep.
But as we continued our journey we came to the divergent path and made a turn .
To make a long story - shorter - Llamas very soon became a part of our life.
And in no time we took the road less traveled.

Our Goal - create a small quality herd that we would be proud to show and also could offer for sale.
We began breeding for balance, good confirmation, strong bone, and spinner's fiber, in other words,
llamas which would show well.

To achieve that goal, very early on, we focused on  PERUVIANS -
we liked their distinct look - their congenial disposition -
their attitude & their flash .

AND over the past 16 years We have been traveling Coast to Coast
showing these beautiful LLAMAS, and enjoying every single minute.

In the Spring of 2009, big changes took place at Kent Rock Meadows -
We made the decision to cut back on the work load,
and find & enjoy other pursuits.
Therefore we have dispersed the majority of our beautiful herd of PERUVIANS,
and have gotten down to a small few of the larger herd we once had...

Some of the older girls who have done great things for us will stay on here, and one or two of our beautiful suris will be here..
And we will enjoy less work and more time to spend with each and every one of them.
